Meet the Staff - Daisy Grinter

What is your role at Concord School?

I have started in the NDIS Navigator role. This role is part of a new Department of Education initiative to provide NDIS support and guidance to families and staff at government specialist schools.

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School:

In my third week in a new initiative my routine is still evolving 😊. The types of tasks that I have been doing include: Responding to contact from families seeking support; meeting with parents about their upcoming NDIS review and talk through their evidence; providing referral options in the community; speaking with teachers about NDIS support for a student and their family; speaking with other NDIS Navigators to share learnings; meeting with class teachers to talk about what might be needed in a letter of support.

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

The Concord team is warm and friendly. I have felt welcomed and included from day 1.

I also love that at any time of the day I will get a visit from a student who wants to know who I am and what I am doing here 😊

Favourite Food: ‘Food’ is a stretch but if I’m being honest, sour cola bottles

Favourite Movie/TV Show: Three-way tie between West Wing, Witcher and Schitt’s Creek

Favourite music: Completely depends on my mood at the time!

Things I dislike the most: People talking loudly through movies

Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You: As a teenager, I was in the first series of the television show 'Round The Twist'

Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete: Roger Federer

If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why? Dan Levy, Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara – it would be very entertaining watching these three bounce off each other.
