Term 4

Welcome back to our students, staff and community members for what will be an incredibly busy Term 4!  We have already started the term with Upper Primary’s Big Day Out, the Secondary Sports Day and our 50+1 Celebration, and there are many more exciting events to look forward to.  I’m sure everyone will enjoy the term ahead!

Year 12 Giving Back Project

Over the next 4 weeks, the Year 12 students will be participating in their final Giving Back Project as part of their VPC Personal Development studies by supporting the 3081 Angels. The 3081 Angels is a partnership between Banyule Community Health, and Rosanna Baptist Church. Their vision is that no child in West Heidelberg and surrounding areas will be without basic material needs. They help families by providing new and near new items to help women and children in need.

The Year 12 students will be collecting, sorting and packing the items. All donations to be brought to the YEAR 12 rooms, Blackwood, Flinders and Yarra, please. We are requesting the donations listed below for the 3081 Angels:

  • Tote Bags
  • Nappies
  • Wipes
  • Baby oil
  • Baby shampoo
  • Small toys
  • Baby clothes (Good condition)

  • Sanitary items
  • Toiletries

Mobile Phone Use

A reminder that, in line with the DET Mobile Phone Use Policy, the use and access to mobile phones while at school is as follows:

  • All students are required to switch off their phones and store them in the classroom secure lock box or for Year 11 & 12 students, they may store them in their own lockers.
  • The only exceptions to the ban will be where students use phones to monitor health conditions, or where teachers instruct students to bring their phone for a particular classroom activity. At all other times phones must be in lock boxes or lockers.

When emergencies occur, parents or guardians can reach their child by calling the school office.

If students do not comply with the Mobile Phone Use Policy for Students, families/carers will receive a phone call from the classroom teacher or  section Team Leader.  If there is any ongoing issues, consequences may occur.
