1991 – Silver Jubilee Year

In 1991, Australia was in a financial recession. Reviewing the Mazenodian for that year, this could easily go unnoticed until you read Fr Kevin Davine’s Rector’s Report. In celebrating the College’s 25th anniversary and acknowledging the financial struggles involved, he expressed concern about the next 25 years. Student enrolments were approaching 1,000, and the budget was under stress with $100,000 in outstanding school fees.

Pictured today are the 1991 College Prefects. Carl Jones was College Captain with Greg Jacobs and Jon Miller as Vice-Captains. This week students from 1990-1999 will gather for a reunion to reflect on those years. We thank them and all Mazenod Old Boys for their continuing support of the College Alumni.
