Swimming Program - MLC

The 2 week intensive swimming program at MLC this year has been an overall success!

Whether the students have learnt new water skills or are perfecting known ones, it has been wonderful to see high levels of participation and effort from all grades.

The feedback from both the school staff and MLC swim instructors has been outstanding, which is a testament to the high standard we hold at St Francis Xavier.

I would like to thank every parent that volunteered to travel on the bus with our students during the past 2 weeks. Experiences like these would not be possible without your ongoing support.

Swimming Carnival

Our school swimming carnival is on Monday 15th December at Ryde Aquatic Centre. This year, parents have been given the option to transport their children to and from the venue. If your circumstances change close to the date, please let the office know so we can ensure we have an adequate number of buses available to transport students to and from school on the day. If you have not already done so, please complete the Compass permission as soon as possible.

A reminder that students who are born in 2018 or older are permitted to participate in the competitive events at the swimming carnival this year and will be aged up if they progress to the Conference 2 Swimming Championships in term 1 of 2026.

Thankyou

On a personal note, I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks for your continued support of sport over my time as the PE teacher and Sport Coordinator at St Francis Xavier. The experiences and opportunities your children have in the domain of PE and Sport would not be possible without your dedication and assistance, whether it be travelling on a bus, timekeeping at a carnival, handing out ribbons or being a team manager at an interschool sport gala day. It has been an absolute honour working with you to give the students of St Francis Xavier as many opportunities as possible to shine in their sporting passions, and I am certain that there will be some future professional athletes emerging from our community.

Thank you for your continued support of sport,

Connie Pinto-Hayes
