1. German Sister School Trip

Leaves in 5 weeks for 4 weeks in Germany 

Both students and their parents are reminded of the pre-departure meeting on Thursday 12 March at 5pm in the school library.

Students are meeting at lunchtime on Monday of each week to prepare for their trip. 

 

2. Welcome to BJR exchange students from Germany

Three girls from Bavaria arrived in Australia on Saturday and started school at Oberon on Monday. The girls will be in year 10 at Oberon for 10 weeks – we hope they enjoy our school and our region. All come from the area around Munich. 

Ida Friedmann is hosted by Iesha Butt, Simona Göhrle by Beatice Galang and Marlen Recker by Shannon Fisher.

 

3. Scholarship opportunity for German students aged 15 – 17

The Goethe-Institute is offering scholarships for motivated and interested students aged between 15 and 17 to travel to Austria (near Salzburg) for a 2- week intensive holiday camp. If you are interested, please speak to your German teacher or see Frau Ray for more information. Applications are due on 1st March. 4. SAGSE scholarship opportunity for students learning German in Years 10, 11, 12 

If your family is prepared to host a German student for 10 weeks this year, you will have a strong chance of receiving one of the prestigious SAGSE scholarships on offer when you are in Years 11 and 12.
