Gayle Tyson-Whittaker

It is with sadness we share with the Oberon community the passing of former staff member, Gayle Tyson-Whittaker.

Gayle, affectionately known as 'T- Dub', taught at Oberon from 1987-2014 teaching PE, Health and Indonesian as well as taking on a variety of leading teacher roles, including being a House Leader. After retiring, Gayle relocated to Indonesia working with small coastal communities as well as joining our Year 10 Indonesian trips to Yogyakarta. Gayle’s intrepid and adventurous nature meant her classes were entertaining, enriching and memorable. Her infectious love for Indonesia and its people permeated Gayle’s work, both in and out of the classroom. Thanks for the friendships and laughs.❤️
