Library News

June 15th -21st was refugee week where our libraries featured true stories about those seeking asylum in the world. Sadly with wars going on in modern times there have been waves of refugees around the world. One amazing story written by a refugee is ‘ The Girl from Aleppo’ written by Nujeen Mustafa with help from Christina Lamb. During 2015 Nujeena depicts her escape from civil war in Syria to Freedom in Germany, made more extraordinary as she was born with Cerebral Palsy and her sister pushed her wheel chair on the perilous journey. Nujeen gives an inside story of what it is really like to be a child refugee with smugglers and governments that did not want her to cross their borders. Unfortunately there are still thousands of displaced people around the globe who have the right to find peace and sanctuary in safe place.
