School Hall Building Refurbishment Update
We continue to edge closer and closer to completion!
As mentioned in our last newsletter, the exterior paint works have been impacted by the adverse weather conditions (paint and rain just don’t seem to mix). These exterior paint works will continue for the next few weeks, and into the school holidays. The good news is that all the internal work is nearly completed. The classrooms and Hall Space really do look SPECTACULAR!
Yesterday at our fortnightly Site Meeting we were told that over the next few weeks, there are still a few minor jobs that need to be completed, including the external painting of the School Hall Building (as mentioned above). Regardless of these tasks still to be completed, we will be able to begin moving items back over to the School Hall Building on Monday 6 October.
As previously communicated Monday 6 October is a SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY - only staff will be at school. On this day staff will set up their classrooms (Year 3 - 6 spaces) and return all temporary used spaces back to their original form and function.
- Tuesday 7 October will be the first school day of Term 4 for children). On this day Year 3 - 6 children will begin Term 4 in the School Hall Building Classrooms.
Thanks for your support and patience with all of the above. We cannot wait to be able to welcome everyone back into the School Hall Building and return our temporary spaces back to their original form and purpose.
End of Term 3
Term 3 ends on Friday 19 September at 12:45pm. A reminder that students can wear casual clothes or dress in their football team colours for Footy Colours Day. Children are asked to bring a gold coin donation with them on the last day of Term 3. The money raised will go towards the purchase of new sports equipment for all our children to enjoy. Thanks to our Parents’ Association who will generously match the money raised.
Father's Day Events
A huge thank you to the Parents' Association for organising the Father's Day Stall last Tuesday. It was so lovely to see all the dads and special men visit the classrooms and attend our Father's Day Paraliturgy and Morning Tea last Friday. A special thank you to all the Year 3 students for leading us in prayer.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Friday 12 September: Reflection Day
The Year 6's partcipated in a Confirmation Reflection Day today. They took part in different activities throughout the morning. They were also visited by Bishop Les Tomlinson who spoke to the children about the significance of the sacrament and the format of the Mass. The children walked to Alexandra Gardens to enjoy some hot chips and potato cakes.
Thursday 18 September: Confirmation Mass (6pm)
We are looking forward to gathering as a community and celebrating our candidates’ reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation at a special Mass at 6pm on Thursday 18 September.
We look forward to supporting your children through this next stage of their faith journey.

2025 School Closure Days
As was communicated to families last year...
* Time in Lieu (TIL)
The new Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (the Agreement) introduces a formal time in lieu (TIL) process for teachers. The Agreement provides that a principal may require a teacher to undertake work and attend a school activity outside the normal hours of attendance (i.e., in excess of the 38 hours or normal hours for a part-time teacher) and when this occurs, it will attract TIL.
Principals should prepare for the accrual and acquittal of TIL through their annual planning process. The timing of the acquittal of TIL is at the discretion of the principal, having regard to the operational needs of the school and causing the least disruption to the educational program of the school.
Principals may elect to acquit TIL through designating days during the year on which all staff and students are not required to attend school.
