Learning & Teaching

Year 1 Olden Days
This term, the students have been delving into the past to consider how things have changed over time and throughout generations. They have been learning about family and school life and how some aspects have changed and some have remained the same. Students have also explored the changes in communication, transport and housing.
Today, the children had the opportunity to enjoy a dress up day at school to immerse themselves in the past. They experienced what school used to be like in the “olden days." Some activities included using chalkboards to complete their addition problems and using cream to make their own butter.
Melbourne Zoo Prep Excursion
To support our Inquiry Unit of “Living Things,” today we visited the Melbourne Zoo to participate in the 'Wild Explorers' lesson. The students were challenged to discover what makes animals special and how we can care for animals and their habitats. Thank you to Nicole Rees and Steph Hayes for volunteering your time to help us thorughout the day.
