Primary Diocesan Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to selected Primary students who attended the Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Tamworth on Wednesday 5th August. St Philomena's was represented by 27 talented students across Track and Field events. Well done to all students for accepting the challenge.
Congratulations to the following students for their qualification and selection in the ACS Polding Athletics Team who will compete in Newcastle in September - Anthony S, Talan L, Isabelle R, Chase C, Levi C, Elsie S.
Special thanks to Mrs Cosgrove and Miss McGrath for their work on the day.
Record
Isabelle Riordan holds the new 11 years Girls 1500m record for the Armidale Diocese. The previous record was 5:55.97 mins, achieved in 2025. Isabelle smashed the record with a time of 5:31.53 mins. Congratulations Isabelle!
Secondary Diocesan Athletics Carnival
A huge round of applause for all selected secondary students who recently travelled to Tamworth to compete in the annual Diocesan Athletics Carnival. Taking on the ACS Diocese best athletes is a real challenge in itself. Congratulations on your participation! A special mention to the following students who placed in the top two of their respective events and have now qualified for the NSWCCC Athletics Championships in Sydney later this term. Well done to Harlee G, Jaydah D, Harry W and Audrey C! We will be cheering you on from Moree. Go Phillies!
Primary Gymnastics
Primary students in years 1-6 have been coming into school buzzing each Monday morning excited for their visit to the PCYC! Part of the PE Curriculm includes gymnastics and movement skills. A great way to teach these skills has been utilising the amazing facilities available to us at the PCYC.
