Acting Principal Update

What a wonderful term we have had at Menzies Creek Primary School. Our students have engaged in an array of learning both in and out of the classroom. From sports days to guest speakers and our debut at the Belgrave Lantern Festival, our school has been buzzing with excitement and an ongoing sense of Menzies Creek Primary School spirit. I wish all our families a wonderful and restful break and I hope you get to spend time doing the things you love with those you love. Our staff will also be taking a well-deserved break and therefore will not be contactable for the duration of the break.
Acting Principal Appointment – Term 3
I’m delighted to share that I have again been appointed Acting Principal at Menzies Creek Primary School for Term 3.
It is a privilege to continue in this role within such a supportive and connected community. I am incredibly grateful to work alongside our dedicated staff, wonderful students, and supportive families, all of whom make our school such a special place.
I look forward to continuing to work together in Term 3 as we build on the many successes of this term and continue to provide the very best for our students.
Socceroos Watch Party
We are excited to finish the term on a high with a Socceroos Watch Party on the last day of Term 2, Friday 26 June.
Following recess, students will come together to celebrate World Cup fever as we watch the Socceroos take to the field against Paraguay at 12:00pm. This will be a fun and engaging way for students to connect, share in the excitement of the game, and enjoy a sense of community as we support our national team.
Students are encouraged to wear green and gold to show their support and get into the spirit of the occasion. They are also welcome to bring along their own snacks to enjoy during the viewing and associated end-of-term activities.
EDEC Lightning Premiership
Our Grades 4, 5 and 6 students proudly represented Menzies Creek Primary School at the EDEC Lightning Premiership, competing in both volleyball and football. It was fantastic to see such strong participation and enthusiasm across both teams. Throughout the day, our students demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and truly embodied our school values of Personal Best, Integrity and Resilience. Well done to all involved!
EDEC Soccer
Our Soccer team represented the school with great pride at the EDEC Soccer Competition, bringing energy, teamwork and a positive attitude to every match. It was fantastic to see students encouraging each other, celebrating their efforts and embracing the challenges of the day. The team made it to the grand final but unfortunately lost to Selby by one goal. They should be very proud of the way they wore the Menzies Creek colours.
Important Dates
A reminder to keep checking the School Calendar in the newsletter, as there are key dates already listed for Term 3.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Our Term 3 Parent Teacher Interviews are being held on Thursday 23rd July. I will send an email to families when the booking system for Parent Teacher Interviews opens, which will be early in Term 3.
