Principal's message

Hi Solway Community, 

As we approach the end of another busy and productive term, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their ongoing support and contribution to the Solway Primary School community. It has been a wonderful term filled with learning, growth and opportunities for students to connect both inside and outside the classroom. I hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing and well-deserved holiday break with family and friends.

A reminder that the final day of Term 2 is Friday 26 June. School will conclude at 2.30pm, with our End of Term Assembly commencing at 1.45pm. Families are warmly invited to attend.

One of the highlights of the past fortnight was our FightMND Big Freeze Assembly. Thank you to Mr Guy for his organisation and enthusiasm in coordinating the event and to everyone who contributed to making it such a success. It is always pleasing to see our community come together to support an important cause while creating memorable experiences for our students. A special thank you also to Steven King for being such a good sport and participating in the event.

Our students have continued to represent our school with pride through a number of recent sporting events, including the Prep to Grade 2 Cross Country, Senior Hooptime and Regional Cross Country competitions. In each event, students demonstrated our values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience, supporting one another, competing fairly and giving their best. Thank you to the many parents who volunteered their time and came along to encourage our students. I would also like to acknowledge Mr Duncan for coordinating Hooptime and Miss Peterson and Ms Lanyon for their organisation of our Cross Country events.

Finally, I would like to let families know that three important school policies have recently been reviewed and updated: our Volunteers Policy, Attendance Policy and Visitors Policy. These documents outline the expectations and processes that help us maintain a safe, welcoming and well organised learning environment for all members of our community. These policies are available on our website. I encourage families to take the opportunity to familiarise themselves with these updates.

2027 Enrolments

A reminder that enrolments for students commencing school in 2027 are now open. If you have a child who will be starting school next year, or know family members, friends or neighbours who are beginning to explore school options, we encourage you to consider Solway Primary School. Information about our enrolment process, upcoming school tours and key dates can be found on our school website or by contacting the school office.
