HPV and Pushcart team news.

PUSHCART TEAM UPDATE

Training for the pushcarts has continued on a weekly basis seeing the students working on their fitness and the presentation aspect of the event. We have received our new protective equipment to wear during the event which consists of knee, elbow and wrist pads. We have begun to wear them during our training sessions so that we can get used to them while running.

We have also been given an extra hour of training each week to prepare our presentation for submission before the event.

Everything is starting to come together as we prepare for November!

HPV TERM 3 SUMMARY AND TERM 4 INFO

It has been a huge term for our HPV team members and together we have achieved almost all of our goals. Thankyou to each and every one of you for your tireless work, but keep in mind, our job is far from done.

-TOM FLOOD TRAINING-

Our Tom Flood training sessions have continued to deliver considerable growth in our team. Our collective average lap time of the track has dropped by seven seconds in just 10 weeks. There is plenty more work to do but we are heading in the right direction. We have been hampered and frustrated with weather but rest assured we will catch as many sessions up as possible.

Our top 5 times look like this....

-HPV #2-

Over the holidays Mr.Pocock will be taking deliver of our second vehicle meaning that both teams will now run in the WIPSTICK model giving everyone equal machinery to race in, a huge development for our teams.

-VIC SERIES RACE 4-

The Victorian HPV series has made a time adjustment to the upcoming race at Casey Fields. Originally this was set to be a 6am start however it will now be run from 9.00am to 5.00pm on October the 21st. We are very keen to go again and hone our race craft. Keep an eye on Compass for this note, we hope that every single student will take up the opportunity to race again. We will look at a new mix of teams as we continue to search for the winning mix.

-TEAM NAMING-

Naming of our HPV's has been short listed with community voting coming very soon. Vote for the two names you want to see on our HPV's in 2023 and earn a few house points along the way.

-TERM FOUR PLANS-

The all important term 4 work is almost upon us. Our Tom Flood training sessions will take a break as we turn our attention to the Design Construction and Display Presentation of the event. Our term 4 training schedule will be sent out mid term.

We have recently reached out to the Bendigo Tech School as well as Monash Human Power for some excursion possibilities. Fingers crossed we can provide these fantastic opportunities to our students.

-BIKETOBER SIGNUP-

Our HPV team are being asked to sign up for Biketober, a fun and exciting way to develop our fitness and cycling further, as the weather warms up, we ask that our HPV team ride to school where possible, we will be taking advantage of the weather and holding lunchtime ride sessions.
