Do your students have something to say about the big issues impacting their lives?
Do they want to put their writing, reporting and media making skills to the test?
Well, they can do all of this and more as our News In My Neighbourhood Competition is back for another year!
This year, we’ve come up with four new challenges that invite school students (Foundation to Year 10) from across Australia to tell us their thoughts and experiences of the topics that matter to them.
We know that students have a lot to say, and we can’t wait to hear from them!
WHAT TO ENTER:
In the competition, there are four challenges with one challenge open per school term.
In each challenge, students are asked to create a different type of media response, like letters, short stories, news articles, drawings, videos, photographs and podcasts!
This year, Primary (Foundation — Year 6) and Secondary (Years 7 — 10) students will respond to the same challenge each term but will have different entry requirements (like the length of their submissions).
Winning students for each year group will have their work published and featured on the ABC.
PLEASE NOTE: To ensure students' privacy, teachers (and parents engaged in homeschooling) will need to submit students' entries on their behalf.
