FROM GRADE 2 CLASSROOM

What a wonderful Term 3 we have had in Grade 2! The students have finished the term strongly and have continued to make wonderful academic growth, particularly in Reading and Mathematics. It has been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they tackle new learning challenges and celebrate their successes along the way.

Our daily Mathematics Fluency Task, Blitzmaster, continues to be a favourite with the Grade 2 students. They love the challenge of improving their speed and accuracy and are always keen to see if they can beat their previous results! We have also had an awesome few weeks focusing on fractions, exploring equal parts and developing our understanding through hands-on learning experiences.

Multiplication and division have also been a big focus this term. We have been working hard to build our understanding through skip counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s. The students have put in a tremendous amount of effort and are becoming increasingly confident when applying these number facts to multiplication and division problems.

We are very sad to say goodbye to Sam Peatling and his family as they leave our school community. Sam has been such a friendly, caring and valued member of our Grade 2 group, and his classmates will certainly miss having him with us each day. We wish Sam every happiness and success at his new school and hope he and his family have a wonderful new adventure as they settle into life on their farm at Katunga. We will certainly miss you, Sam!

Thank you, Grade 2, for an awesome Term 3! We are incredibly proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and positive attitude you have shown throughout the term.

To all our Grade 2 families, We wish you a safe, happy and relaxing two-week break. Enjoy some family time, get outside, recharge and have fun! We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4 — don't forget your hats! ☀️
