2026 Term 4 Co-Curricular Registrations — Open NOW!

Registrations are now open for the following Term 4 Co-Curricular activities:

• SATIS 1st Cricket: Years 9-12 (see notes below)
• SSATIS Cricket: Years 7/8 (Tuesday afternoons)
• SSATIS Touch Football: Years 7/8 (Monday afternoons) and Years 9/10 (Wednesday afternoons)
• SSATIS Volleyball: Years 7/8 and Years 9/10 (Thursday afternoons)
• SSATIS Tennis: Years 7/8 (Wednesday afternoons)
• SVC Tennis Development: Years 7-12 (Monday afternoons)
• SVC MTB Program: Years 7-12 (Thursday afternoons at Austins Ferry — own bike is required)
• Rugby 7's: Years 7-10 (Friday nights at Rugby Park, see notes below)
• SVC Sailing Development: Years 7-12 (Tuesday afternoons at the MEC, see notes below)
• Sailing — Team Racing: Years 7-12 (Training Tuesday, Racing Wednesday, see notes below)

• Rowing: Years 7-12 (see notes below)

   

Registration Details:

Please be advised that the registration period closes promptly at 5.00PM on Wednesday, 23 September 2026. To ensure a smooth registration process, we kindly ask that Students and their Parents/Carers discuss their options prior to signing up. This 

co-operation will help prevent any duplicate registrations or enrolment in activities that the student may not be interested in participating in. The days and times allotted for each activity are listed above to facilitate thoughtful decisions.

Commitment to Participation

Once students have registered and been placed on a team, they must commit to attending all scheduled games throughout the season, including any finals. This commitment is vital for fostering team cohesion and ensuring optimal team performance. In the unfortunate circumstance that a student is unwell or suffers an injury preventing them from playing, it is essential to inform the team coach at the earliest opportunity. Timely communication enables the coach to make necessary adjustments to the team's lineup, maximising the team's competitive edge.

Inclusivity at St Virgil's College

At St Virgil's College, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive institution. We strive to accommodate all students who register for their chosen activities. However, please note that in situations where numbers or resources are limited, selection trials and specific criteria may be implemented.

Transportation and Uniform Requirements:

For the convenience of our students, the College will provide transportation for the boys from Austins Ferry to their designated sporting venues each afternoon via a third-party bus.  Buses will depart from the basketball courts at the direction of College staff. This transport will not be supervised by College staff or volunteer coaches. College staff and/or volunteer coaches will meet the team at the destination.  The College provides no return transport, and parents/carers are responsible for picking up the boys after the conclusion of their matches.

It is mandatory for boys to provide their own sport-specific uniforms, which differ from the official school day sports uniform. These uniforms can be purchased at the Uniform Shop, which operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Behaviour and Academic Expectations:

Participation in all St Virgil's College Sports Programs requires students to consistently meet the College's expectations for behaviour and academic effort. Being a representative of the College is a privilege, and ongoing involvement in Co-Curricular Activities will be contingent on behaviour monitoring and feedback from Heads of House and College Leadership.

Tasmanian Schools Triathlon Challenge 

The 2026 Tasmanian Schools Triathlon Challenge for High Schools will be held on Thursday 3 December at Bellerive Beach.

If your son is interested in participating, please complete the entry form through this link https://schoolstriathlonchallenge.com and return it to the College Reception Office, along with the $32 entry fee (or pay via the EdSmart Slip sent to families on 24 August), no later than Monday 28 September. Entries will not be processed until the entry fee has been paid. Late entries may not be accepted. All payments are to be made through EdSmart payments via this slip.

Key information:

• Students can enter both in an individual event and a team event.
• Teams can be made up of students from different year levels. Students are responsible for forming their own teams prior to entry.
• Teams can consist of 2 or 3 students. 
• The entry fee is $32 per student, regardless of how many events they enter. 
• Parents/guardians are responsible for transport to and from Bellerive Beach, including bikes.

• The College will provide an SVC tent and staff supervision on the day.

Diabetes Australia are again partnering with the Schools Triathlon to support over 1.5 million Australians living with diabetes, helping fund life-changing research, education, and advocacy.

Team sVc has set up a fundraising page as part of the triathlon, and we will now go into the running to win a $10,000 cash prize to support our school sporting programs and equipment.

SATIS Representative Sports Challenge

Last Friday marked the third annual SATIS representative sports challenge, hosted by Launceston Church Grammar.

Congratulations to all members of Team sVC, who proudly represented St Virgil's College and Southern SATIS against their Northern opponents.

Tennis:

Southern SATIS defeated Northern SATIS, 6 rubbers to 0.  

Player: Charlie Marsden

Basketball:

Northern SATIS defeated Southern SATIS, 88 to 61.  

Players: Ryan Lamprey (injured) and Harrison Nadler

Soccer:

Southern SATIS defeated Northern SATIS, 6 to 2.  

Players: Luke Morrisby, Zach KS, Japnoor Brar 

Coaches: Chris Tsakiris and Michael Moschogianis

The entire day was a brilliant showcase of SATIS sporting talent, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and determination that inspires us all.

AFL Awards:

Congratulations to the many SVC students who polled votes at the recent STJFL Southern Tasmanian Junior Football League Best and Fairest Night for the U13, U14, U15 & U16 Boys and U14 & U16 Girls.

The Robert Beakley Medal Presentations 2026 - Medal Count & Awards Presentation was held in the Ricky Ponting Room at Ninja Stadium.

A special mention to Will Gulliver and Jake Burt for winning their respective age group medals.
