Principal's Message

As we reach the end of Term 3, it has been rewarding to reflect on the learning, growth and community spirit that have shaped this term. Term 3  has been busy, purposeful and rich with experiences that have helped our students grow as capable, confident learners, children who are curious, engaged and proud of their achievements.

Across the school, students have taken part in learning that encourages exploration, problem‑solving and collaboration. Incursions and excursions brought learning to life: the Rail Safety program, the Year 5/6 Scienceworks excursion, the Adopt‑an‑Animal incursion, and the Emma Gourlay author visit all sparked curiosity and hands‑on engagement. 

These experiences help students see themselves as active learners who investigate, wonder and make meaning.

We celebrated many community moments that strengthen connection and belonging, the Grandparents Liturgy, Father’s Day Breakfast, Book Week Parade and the Preps' 100 Days of School. These events remind students that they belong to a community built on connection, inclusion and shared learning.

We also farewelled Sarah after seven years of dedicated service and Emily who started her maternity leave on Monday. 

Throughout the term, students have shown enthusiasm, persistence and pride. These experiences, big and small, help them become learners who are curious, capable and ready for new challenges.

A heartfelt thank you to all our parents and carers for the daily routines that support learning, ensuring students arrive on time, come to school well‑rested and have lunches packed and ready for the day. These small but important actions make a significant difference to how confidently students begin their learning.

Your partnership means a great deal. It strengthens our community, supports student wellbeing and helps make St Martin de Porres the wonderful place it is.

Uniform Expectations

Towards the end of the term, we have noticed an increase in students wearing incorrect uniform items. As we move into Term 4, we ask for your support in ensuring all students wear the correct St Martin de Porres uniform each day.

Next term, students will begin transitioning into their summer uniform. For the first two weeks, families may choose either the winter or summer uniform as part of our transition period. After this time, all students are expected to be in full summer uniform including a school hat. 

Our uniform is an important part of who we are. Students wear it:

• as a sign they are members of the St Martin de Porres community

• to maintain a neat and tidy appearance

• to ensure equality, health, safety and consistency across the school

• because uniforms are more cost-effective and practical than casual clothes in a school environment

Wearing the correct uniform helps students feel confident, prepared and connected to their learning community. Your support in reinforcing this at home is greatly appreciated.

 2026 - School Closure Days

A reminder that Term 4 starts on Tuesday, 6th of October.

Listed below are our school closure days for 2026. These are student-free days. Staff use these days to develop their learning further and keep informed with current practices and procedures. 

NOTE: These dates may be subject to change that may be outside of our control.
