A message from Stage 1
It is hard to believe we are already in Week 9, with Easter approaching and the school holidays just around the corner.
Our Easter Hat Parade will take place on the last day of school, Thursday of Week 10 (Thursday 2 April). Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend. We are looking forward to seeing the wonderful creations that students will make with their Stage 3 Buddies!
Students are continuing to work in their InitiaLit groups, building strong foundational reading skills. In writing, we are focusing on creating compound sentences and adding descriptions to make our writing more engaging. Students are learning to identify and use nouns and adjectives to enhance their ideas.
Our maths groups are well underway. Students are developing their understanding of whole numbers through counting, representing, and working with numbers in a variety of ways.
In science and technology, we are learning about living things and how they grow. Students are exploring what plants and animals need to live and are observing changes over time.
Students are learning about the continents of the world, Australia’s states and territories, and are exploring the differences between rural and urban areas.
Stage 1 staff and students have been attending the gymnastics centre over the past 2 Fridays. They have thoroughly enjoyed the bus trip and have had so much fun developing new skills at the excellent gymnastics facility. Students have loved participating in activities such as the rock wall, balance beam, trampoline, foam pit and obstacle courses. We have one more gymnastics centre excursion this coming Friday.
We are proud of the enthusiasm and effort students are showing across all learning areas.
