Carnegie Primary School students are off to an exciting start with a range of enriching academic opportunities designed to challenge and inspire!
Year 5/6 Olympiads
Selected students will be participating in the Year 5/6 Olympiads, where they will engage in rigorous problem-solving challenges that promote critical thinking and perseverance. These competitions provide a wonderful opportunity for students to extend their mathematical reasoning and analytical skills while representing our school with pride.
STEMPals Program
We are thrilled to be a part of the STEMPals program this year, where students from 4/5/6 connect with mentors to explore real-world STEM vocations. Through inquiry-based learning and letter writing, students develop their communication skills, creativity and innovative thinking while building meaningful academic partnerships.
John Monash Science School Little Scientist Program
Beginning on 11th March, a group of our students will take part in the Little Scientist Program run by John Monash Science School. This program provides hands-on scientific investigations and exposure to advanced scientific thinking, encouraging curiosity and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. We look forward to seeing our students grow in confidence as young scientists through this enriching experience.
Victorian Coding Challenge
A group of Carnegie students will also be commencing the Victorian Coding Challenge, an exciting opportunity to develop computational thinking and programming skills. Students will design, create and problem-solve through coding tasks that foster logical reasoning and creativity in a digital context.
We are incredibly proud of our students for embracing these opportunities and look forward to celebrating their achievements throughout the year.
