The Ardlethan Art Exhibition

Week 2 Term 2, 2024

The annual Ardlethan Art Exhibition has become a cherished event within the local community. This art competition not only provides a platform for established artists to showcase their work but also serves as a valuable opportunity for emerging talents, particularly students. This year's exhibition was a true spectacle, with a vibrant display of art pieces that spanned a wide spectrum of styles and expressions. The artworks on display were a testament to the rich artistic diversity present in our region.

Among the many talented artists featured in this year's exhibition, one of the College's students, Leo Wang, stood out for his exceptional talent and achievement. Leo was awarded the People's Choice Award, a remarkable feat considering the high calibre of artists he was competing against. In addition to this, Leo sold two of his landscape paintings, a wonderful accomplishment. We are very proud of our art students who entered the competition to showcase their talents alongside some of the most skilled and established artists in the Riverina.

Thank you to Karen Wood (Advance Ardlethan) for the time and effort you put into organising this event, and your encouragement and support of our student entries. Special thanks to the amazing judges, Dr Sam Bowker (Art Historian), Tim Kurylowicz (Eastern Riverina Arts Executive Director) and curator Yanni Johns.

As we reflect on the successes of this year's exhibition, we are reminded of the power of art to inspire, provoke thought, and bring people together. Well done to all those involved. We can’t wait to see what next year’s exhibition brings.
