Student Voice, Agency & Leadership

Our Student Voice, Agency and Leadership (SVAL) program continues to provide students with opportunities to contribute to College life, represent their peers and help shape activities across the school.
The College Captain selection process for 2027 has now commenced, with students beginning the process of applying for these important leadership roles. Our Year Level Captain and House Captain processes will also be commencing shortly, so students interested in taking on a leadership role should keep an eye out for further information and opportunities to get involved.
Our current student leaders are also working hard behind the scenes to organise a number of upcoming events. Planning is underway for a Wear It Purple Day fundraiser, supporting the Wear It Purple Day Foundation and promoting inclusion, belonging and support for LGBTQIA+ young people across our community.
Our student leaders also did an outstanding job leading our recent Whole College Assembly. They took on key roles in planning, presenting and helping the event run smoothly, demonstrating confidence, organisation and a strong sense of responsibility to the wider College community. It was fantastic to see students speaking in front of their peers, celebrating achievements and helping create a positive whole-school atmosphere. Their work was a great example of student voice and leadership in action, and they should be incredibly proud of the way they represented both themselves and the College.
Looking further ahead, student leaders are also preparing a Colour Run for Year 12 students in Term 4. This will provide our senior students with a fun opportunity to come together, celebrate and build connection as the year progresses. There is a lot happening in the SVAL space, and it is great to see students continuing to take ownership of ideas, events and leadership opportunities across the College. Keep an eye out for more information about captaincy applications and upcoming student-led activities.
