R U OK? Day
Secondary students will be participating in RUOK Day awareness session on Thursday 10th of September. We have been fortunate enough to be supported by the NLLEN who have arranged guest speaker, Tom Dunn to present to students.
Tom Dunn is a young Australian Adventurer/Advocate. Despite being just 27 years old, Tom has already raised over $100,000 for charity through his ultra endurance adventures. By pushing himself to surpass his own and others' expectations, Tom has realised that “Anyone can do anything, if given the opportunity”.
His website is here: https://www.tomdunn.com.au/about
Tom’s presentation will be followed by activities that will focus on building the skills to have meaningful conversations and confidently check in with friends who may be struggling. The session will explore practical communication techniques, active listening, and how to start conversations that matter.
Headlice Checks
We are fortunate enough to be part of the Nurses in Schools Program which allows the school to be supported by school nurse, Jacinta Miller. As part of her role Jacinta is able to undertake headlice checks to assist in managing any outbreaks that may crop up from time to time.
Over the past week all students from Foundation to Year 8 have received a consent form. It would be greatly appreciated if these could please be returned as soon as possible. This will allow us the undertake headlice checks on a need’s basis.
