This Week's Learning bulletin: TERM HIGHLIGHTS
What a wonderful term it has been at Armadale Primary School! There has been so much happening across our school, with students, staff and families coming together to learn, celebrate and contribute to our community.
A definite highlight was our Curriculum Day and Family Conferences. It was wonderful to have the whole school community involved in conversations about our children’s learning and progress. We have been so pleased to hear the many positive comments from families about the conferences and, in particular, how valuable they found the opportunity to connect with teachers, celebrate their child’s learning and discuss their next steps.
Our whole-school events have been a real highlight, with the Year 6 PFA/ SRC team running Casual Clothes Day and Crazy Hair Day. Book Week was another wonderful celebration, with visits from Anne Ryan, Meerkat Productions and Pip Harry, culminating in a fantastic Book Parade, run by our Year 6 school leaders, and was enjoyed by all.
We have also seen some exciting student-led projects begin to take shape. Our Yarning Circle project, supported by Uncle John Murray, has been driven by our students and will provide a special space for connection, storytelling and community. Work has also continued on our Monkey Bar Nature Playground and the redesign of our front entrance, with the aim of making our school an even safer and more welcoming place for everyone. We are very grateful for the ongoing support of our PFA, with several fundraisers contributing towards these important projects.
Across the year levels, there have been plenty of special moments. Our Preps celebrated 100 Days of Prep, while our Year 1 students enjoyed a visit to Melbourne Zoo. Our Year 2 students proudly showcased their STEM creations, and our Year 3/4 students enjoyed a fantastic camp experience at The Ranch.
Our Year 5/6 students have also had a busy and productive term, participating in a number of sporting events while making a significant contribution to our wider school community. They have been leading projects to raise awareness about where rubbish belongs, visiting local kindergartens, helping to build the profile and spirit of our Houses, Densham, Rose, Munro and Northcote, and working on a video to accompany our school song.
It has been wonderful to see our students not only learning and growing but also taking an active role in shaping and strengthening our school community. There is certainly plenty to celebrate!
A very big thank you to our students, staff, families, PFA and SRC for the energy, enthusiasm and commitment they have brought to the term. So many of these highlights are possible because of the way our community works together, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone's contribution.
We look forward to continuing this momentum and making Term 4 another wonderful term at APS.
