F/1 Class

The F/1 class has had a great start to the term. The classroom has been rearranged and set up to support their new unit on emotional literacy and regulation. Students have been creating faces, identifying and naming different emotions, and learning strategies to help them manage their feelings. They have also been busy writing poems, with a very creative idea underway for displaying them around the school.

Marcus also has a glamping tent awaiting construction, which will become a cosy reading and learning space over the warmer months. Keep an eye out for the bushy tent in the back corner of the school, which should be set up next week!

2/3 Class

The 2/3 class has jumped straight into their history unit, which is currently focused on First Nations peoples and life before colonisation. They have been reading a range of books to build their knowledge and understanding of First Nations histories and cultures and have also written a new Acknowledgement of Country that they sahre as a class each morning.

In Mathematics, students have been tackling division, which has been a bit of a hit! The students have really enjoyed showing off their skills and sharing their strategies.

They have also started working on narrative writing this week, with plenty of creative ideas beginning to take shape.

4/5/6 Classes

It has been a busy start to the term in both the 4/5 and 5/6 classrooms. Preparations are underway for the Year 5/6 Urban Camp in November, along with planning for our Year 6 graduation.

The 5/6 students have been participating in the Relationships 101 program, which focuses on building self-awareness, confidence and positive relationships with others. Both classes are also extending this learning through their Respectful Relationships and Social and Emotional Learning units.

The newsroom has also been busy, with new articles appearing in The Talkative Taradalian. The students have enjoyed this unit so much that they will be continuing their newsroom sessions a few times a week throughout Term 4! Issue 2 will be ready in a few days - it is just with the graphic design team for the final touches.
