It has been a great start to the term, and the students have settled back in well. There has been lots of creative play happening in the sandpit, some shifting of bases around the school, and plenty of interest in our clay, LEGO and woodwork clubs. We have also had a pop-up morning craft club run by one of our amazing parents, which has been a big hit with the students!

In other school news, John and Dave have been extremely busy around the grounds. They have been working hard to keep the grass under control (which is a commendable feat at the moment!), trimming weeds and pruning trees, hedges and bushes. Much of this work is also in preparation for the upcoming bushfire season, helping to keep our grounds safe and looking fantastic.

During some of the grounds work, Sid uncovered a long-lost relic and spent some time cleaning it up. We now have a beautiful bat mosaic back on display! Chris tells me there are a few more hidden somewhere around the school, so we will have to keep an eye out.

John also has a big list of projects to tackle throughout Term 4, including painting, oiling the decking, organising the sports and gardening sheds, and completing some general repairs. He has been doing a fabulous job, and we are looking forward to getting a few more projects finished over the coming weeks.

We also have our paths being resurfaced, with the work expected to be completed over the weekend. The first stage is already looking great, and we are excited to see the finished result.

We have been receiving lots of enquiries about enrolment at our wonderful school, and we are still accepting Foundation enrolments for 2027. It is always a pleasure to show prospective families around, have a chat and share all the wonderful things our students and teachers are doing. If you know of any families considering Taradale for next year, please encourage them to get in touch.

Term 4 is also hat season! Please make sure your child has a hat at school each day. With some warmer weather expected next week, it is particularly important that students are sun safe. Students without hats will need to play in the designated shaded areas.

Lunch Clubs

Lunch clubs continue to be a really good option for students who would like something different to do at lunchtime. LEGO Club runs on Mondays, Clay Club on Tuesdays and Woodwork Club on Fridays.

Breakfast Club Volunteers

We now have a rather large (and fresh!) stock of cereal after I accidentally ordered a little more than we needed. Hopefully, this will keep Breakfast Club well stocked for a while!

We are also looking for some additional volunteers to help run Breakfast Club each morning from 8:30am to 9:00am. If you are able to help out, even for one morning a week, please get in touch.

Just a reminder that Chris is on secondment for the next few weeks, so I will be working full-time as Acting Principal for the next three weeks. Please direct all enquiries to me.
