School Academies 

Kitchen Garden Academy

Last Thursday we were busy catching up on gardening after the holiday break.  There were many plants that had finished producing vegetables and many plants that were not vegetables at all!  We filled the wheelbarrow with weeds and dead plants and then we watered the plants that are still growing.  

We picked Cauliflower and Rainbow Chard and we got to take home some to cook.

We also planted out Sweetcorn in the garden beds we cleared and prepared with new soil.

Chess Academy

This term, the students participating in Chess Academy have been competing in a friendly tournament. Every week they have been matched with a different opponent, and it has been wonderful to see the sportsmanship and resilience on display.

Equally commendable has been the way in which the Senior students have been helping to coach the Juniors. There are a wide range of ages in our Academy, with students aged from Prep all the way to Year 6, and the older students have eagerly taken on the role of mentors.
