Week 3 - Mother's Day
Hi all, and welcome to our TheirCare weekly recap. This week children were able to enjoy a fun and engaging program filled with creativity, exploration and active play. The group took part of crystal making activity, where children observed changes overtime and showed great curiosity about how crystals form. We shared story time sessions where children were active participants in choosing books and willing to read to their peers. Outdoors, children had plenty of energy to burn through games of hide and seek and tag, building teamwork, communication and confidence while enjoying active play with friends. We also did some art and craft for this week Mothers Day. Overall, it was a wonderful week of learning, creativity and fun.
Week 4 - Cooking is Science
This week at Before and After School Care, children participated in a range of engaging activities focused on wellbeing, inclusion, and teamwork. We encouraged open conversations around mental health and bullying, creating a safe and supportive environment where children felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings.
Throughout the week, children explored board games, participated in active gym sessions playing Fruit Salad, listened to music selected by the children, enjoyed cooking experiences, and spent time outdoors playing soccer games together.
We also discussed our School expectations, kindness, and respect towards others. Children were reminded about the importance of speaking up and seeking support if they ever feel bullied or unsafe. It was wonderful to see children building positive friendships, showing teamwork, and supporting one another during activities.
Week 5 - Fun in Gym
This week at our Before and After School Care program, children enjoyed a fun-filled week of creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning experiences. During our cooking experiences, children participated in making delicious muffins and sushi, where they explored different ingredients, practised following instructions, and developed important life skills while working together in small groups.
Children were also excited to explore the gym space, engaging in active play through soccer and various group games that encouraged teamwork, coordination, and confidence. Our science experiences sparked curiosity and imagination as children participated in experiments such as creating a cloud dough and growing crystals, allowing them to explore cause and effect through hands-on learning.
Throughout the week, children engaged in a variety of small group activities including board games, bowling, Connect Four, and memory games. These experiences supported social interaction, problem-solving, communication, and cooperative play. It has been wonderful to see children building friendships, exploring new interests, and confidently participating in the many engaging experiences offered throughout the program.
Reminders:
Lalor East TheirCare also follows Sun Smart and as of 1 September, we encourage children when going outside to place suncream and sunhats.
Please make sure your child have a hat in their bag for when attending our session.
If your child requires special sunscreen please let the staff know, as we only carry 50+ homebrand.
Parents are required to get their child/ren warmer jackets as we encourage and support indoor/outdoor play.
It would be amazing to have families share any recipes with us as we are starting with our Cooking club as of next week
