Child Safe Standard 3 mandates that organizations empower children and young people regarding their rights, actively involve them in decision-making, and ensure their voices are heard and taken seriously. Key requirements include teaching children about their rights, promoting peer support, and providing age-appropriate safety information.

As part of our commitment to Child Safe Standards, our school continues to ensure that all staff and volunteers are well trained and supported to keep children safe and promote their wellbeing.

At St Joseph’s, we achieve this by:

  • teaching and embedding the Child-Friendly Child Safe Code of Conduct
  • implementing the Respectful Relationships program across the school
  • valuing and nurturing positive, respectful relationships between students, staff, families, and the wider community
  • following clear policies for photographing and recording to protect children’s privacy and dignity

Together, these practices strengthen our shared responsibility to ensure every child in our community is safe, valued, and supported.
