💙 Where strength meets kindness, learning thrives.

Dear Parents and Carers

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s Elmore Charity Ball. Our wonderful volunteers dedicated more than 93 hours across catering, traffic management, and clean‑up—an extraordinary commitment that truly reflects the spirit of our community. Your generosity and hard work make a real difference, and the benefits flow directly to all children at St Joseph’s.

We are deeply grateful for your time, energy, and support.

Celebrating Quality Teaching and Dynamic Learning Spaces at St Joseph’s

At St Joseph’s, we are incredibly proud of our exceptional staff who work tirelessly to ensure every child is supported to learn from exactly where they are. Our teachers bring expertise, care, and deep professionalism to their classrooms each day, creating calm and predictable environments where students feel confident, capable, and ready to grow.

Our learning programs are evidence‑based and designed to meet the needs of all students. While children may sometimes express that this way of learning feels different or challenging, we want to reassure families that these approaches are proven to support strong academic progress. A rigorous assessment schedule underpins our planning and helps us organise classroom structures and groups that maximise learning for every student.

You may hear your child mention that they move to a different learning space for English. This is a purposeful part of our approach: every child is taught by an expert teacher, at the point of learning that is right for them. Each morning from 9:00am to 11:00am, five vibrant and focused learning spaces operate across the school.

Our teachers draw on programs from the Catholic Education Sandhurst MAGNIFY initiative, which guides high‑quality, targeted instruction.

I have the privilege of stepping into these classrooms and supporting learning where needed. What I see each time is inspiring—students who are engaged, motivated (most of the time), and responding positively to the rich learning opportunities provided. Our learning environments are dynamic, well‑planned, and filled with purposeful energy.

We are proud of our teachers, proud of our learners, and proud of the strong, research‑aligned direction St Joseph’s continues to take.

Together, we are building learning spaces where every child can thrive.

NAPLAN Preparation:                                         Wednesday 11 March – Monday 23 March

Over the coming weeks, we are supporting our Year 3 and Year 5 students as they prepare for their upcoming NAPLAN assessments.

What does this involve?

Students have access to online practice tests through the NAPLAN portal. These practice opportunities help them become familiar with the style of questions they may encounter and the ways they might be asked to respond. This gentle preparation aims to build confidence and reduce any uncertainty around the testing format.

If you have any questions or concerns about NAPLAN or your child’s readiness, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher—we’re here to help.
