Ryde Area Primary Schools Public Speaking Competition

On Wednesday 13 May, Josie L and Thea V proudly represented us at the Ryde Area Primary Schools Public Speaking Competition held at Eastwood Heights Public School. Hosted by Ryde Rotary, the event brought together talented young speakers from schools across the Ryde area.

Josie spoke about "Why My Parents Should Get Me a Pet," sharing her thoughtful reasons for welcoming a pet into her home. Thea’s speech, "If I Were Prime Minister for a Week," outlined her ideas about how she would handle the role of Prime Minister.

Both girls did an amazing job and impressed everyone with their confidence and creativity. It was a fantastic experience for all involved to hear a wide variety of speeches and learn from one another.

We are so proud of Josie and Thea for representing our school. Congratulations to both on their fantastic effort!

If your child enjoys public speaking or wants to build confidence in this area, we encourage them to join the Meadowbank Speakers Club. It meets every Monday lunchtime in the 5/6R classroom, providing a supportive space to practice and improve speaking skills.
