Kindergarten

Earlier this term, Kindergarten were studying the text "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen. We had a close look at onomatopeoia (a word that phonetically imitates, resembles, or suggests the natural sound that it describes) and how the text used this to make it more enaging and real. 

Kindergarten then worked together and became author's and illustrators. We wrote our own story called "We're Going on a Principal Hunt". First, we worked in groups and drew the spaces we thought we would find Mrs Sheridan. Then, we jointly constructed the text to accompany the illustrations. The final and arguably the most fun step, we went on a hunt to find Mrs Sheridan. Below are some pictures from our hunt and the text we created as a class.
