A Message from the Principal
Mrs Amanda Sheridan
Term 2 has seen a great deal of learning, growth and fun for our students. Some of the highlights have been:
-Celebrating First Eucharist with some of our Year 3 students
-Our Faithful Foresters Group helping us to recycle
-Starting the rehearsals for our school play
-Preparing for our athletics carnival
-Learning new soccer skills during sport
-Celebrating NAPLAN results
-Working with Mrs Scott to develop our ASCA portfolio
-Practising our musical skills with Mrs Caterer
With all of this happening, it is time for a well-earned rest. I hope you take time to play a board game, look at the stars, read a book and do something that brings you joy. Slow down, reset and be ready for another term of learning and fun.....but before all of that, we have 8 more days of safe, respectful learning this term!
Last week, Brooklyn and Miss Allan travelled to Bonville to join students from across the diocese to participate in in a cultural excursion called Wii Gaay, meaning "clever child". During the week, Brooklyn continued to work on her research project called 50 Pages of Deadly, celebrating this year's NAIDOC theme through storytelling. We are proud of Brooklyn for representing our school and look forward to hearing all about her adventure.

Research shows that when the home-school partnership is strong, the beneficiary is the child. At St Joseph's, we pride ourselves on our open-door policy. Parents are encouraged to be part of our school community, and one way to do so is by booking a parent-teacher conference, which is open this week. You can also do this by reading and following the attached Positive Partnership Document.

The first two days of Term 3, 20th and 21st July, will be pupil-free days as the staff participate in Curriculum Professional Development and First Aid Training. The first day for students after the winter holiday break will be Wednesday, 22nd July.
Enjoy your week, and as always, reach out if I can be of assistance.
