Eastern Regional Softball Championships - 5th Place fpr Both Boys/Mixed & Girls teams
Our softball team represented the school with determination and great spirit at the Eastern Regional Softball Championships recently. Both our Boys/Mixed and Girls teams competed on the day and began with three challenging pool matches, where the team faced some very strong opposition and finished with two losses. Despite the tough start, the players showed outstanding teamwork and a commitment to improving with every inning.
As the day progressed, both our girls and boys/mixed, batting and fielding sharpened considerably. This momentum paid off in the finals series, with the team delivering an impressive performance in the semi-final to secure a well-earned win. Riding that confidence, they backed it up with another strong display in the minor final, finishing the tournament in 5th place overall.
Congratulations to all players for their teamwork, positive energy and sportsmanship throughout the day. They represented the school with pride and should be extremely proud of their achievements.

Swimming Squad Trials for the 2026 St Simon Swimming Team
Later this term, our school will be conducting swimming squad trials to select our 2026 St Simon the Apostle Swimming Team to compete at Wantrina District Swimming interschool competition.
Students have been asked about their interest in trying out for the swimming squad in their freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
All students who have expressed interest will have an Operoo permission form sent home to their parents listing the dates of our swimming trials at Dandenong Oasis before school (7:15-8:30am).
Year 5 students and Year 2 students - Friday 5th December
Year 3 students and Year 4 students - Monday 8th December
We ask parents to deliberate and select the strokes your child wishes to try out for the team on the Operoo form. If they know how to perform all four swimming strokes, please encourage your child to try out for all of them or as many as they are capable of swimming.
As of today, we still need more swimmers in Year 2, 3 ,4 and 5 to try out for breaststroke and butterfly to fill out our entire team in each of the District events. Parents can add these strokes on the Operoo permission form and make changes to their current signed form.

St Simon Interschool Sport Team Jerseys & Short
We ask all parents to please check if your child/ren still have a St Simon Singlet, Football/Netball Jersey or Team Uniform or Team Shorts at home used at either District or Division Winter and/or Summer Sports or Division Athletics or District Basketball.
If your child has one of the school team uniforms at home, please return it to the school office as soon as possible.

Please note the following date for our SSV Wantirna District and Knox Division for the 2026 calendar year.
These dates are subject to change according to the discretion of the District and Division Coordinator. We wish to provide parents of our school the opportunity to acknowledge when upcoming sporting events are occurring.
We particularly call out to all future Year 5 and 6 parents to note the dates and to be potentially available to support our Interschool Sport teams as parent involvement not only supports our students in many ways as coaches and umpires but helps our staff with assistance with supervision. We thank all parents for their great help in making Interschool Sport a success for St Simon!
