Welcome back to all students, staff and families for Term 3. I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and enjoyable holiday break and is feeling refreshed for the busy and rewarding term ahead.

Term 3 is traditionally one of our busiest terms, filled with opportunities for students to learn, achieve and participate in a wide range of academic, sporting and cultural activities.

Our teachers and support staff remain committed to providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences that support every student to succeed. Regular attendance continues to be a key factor in student achievement, and we thank families for their ongoing support in ensuring students arrive at school each day ready to learn.

This term also provides many opportunities for students to build confidence, resilience and teamwork through participation in extracurricular programs and school events. We encourage all students to become involved and make the most of the experiences available to them.

Coming and Going to School

At Goondiwindi State School, our students are ambassadors for our school every time they wear their school uniform. Whether walking, riding, travelling on the bus or being dropped off and picked up, we ask all students to continue demonstrating our GREAT Expectations.

This means:

  • Giving your best by making positive choices.
  • Respecting yourself, others and our community.
  • Acting safely by following road and bus safety rules.
  • Enjoying the journey while using kind words and appropriate behaviour.
  • Working as a team to help create a positive image of our school.

We ask families to remind students that the same high standards of behaviour expected at school also apply when travelling to and from school. By working together, we can ensure every student represents Goondiwindi State School with pride and helps keep our community safe and welcoming.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Upcoming Events

We have a number of events planned throughout Term 3, including:

  • Goondiwindi Eisteddfod
  • Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Book Week activities
  • House competitions
  • Camp, excursions and curriculum enrichment activities
  • Father’s Day Stall and celebrations
  • Junior Athletics Carnival

Please keep an eye on school communications, newsletters, emails and social media for specific dates and further details throughout the term.

I look forward to celebrating the many successes and achievements of our students throughout Term 3.
