Another King's Birthday Honour

Also included in the 2025 King’s Birthday listings was the following: 

Member of the Order of Australia (AM) to:

Adrian Sean Kelly for significant service to the real estate sector in leadership and board roles. Real Estate Institute of Australia. 

Adrian attended the College from 1984-89 and is the son of Sean and Dorothy Kelly.  Sean attended St Virgil’s from 1958-63.  Adrian's younger brother Damien (svc 1988-93) was Head Prefect in his final year, gained a Law / Commerce degree from UTAS and is now a Director of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) in Canberra.

 

Adrian’s grandparents, Melba and Tom, made a significant contribution to St Virgil’s in 1950’s and 1960’s; Melba as a member of staff in the speech, drama and choral facet, whilst Tom was associated with the St Virgil’s College Cadet Unit.

 

Adrian was halfway through a teaching degree as a young man when he realised it was not the career he wanted.

 

It was this decision which led him to a 30 plus year long career in real estate and now earned Mr Kelly a Member of the Order of Australia honour.

 

He is the CEO and one of the founders of View Real Estate, having previously been the General Manager of Roberts Real Estate. He has been a Board Member (Real Estate Institute of Tasmania Representative), Property Agents Board of Tasmania, since 2013.

He was President of the Tasmanian body from 2011-2014, has been on the National Board since 2014 and served as its President from 2019-21.

 

In 2024 Adrian was awarded the prestigious President’s Award at the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) National Awards for Excellence.
