The students will be learning about: 

• Focusing on letters and sounds; s, m, t, a, p, i, f, o, r, c, d
• Introducing ‘Tricky Words’ I, is, the, my, a, was, you, to, they, that, said, are, he, she, me, be, we. 
• Alliteration, syllables, rhyme, onset and rime. 

In writing:

• Using punctuation in writing (full stops, capital letters, spaces).
• Taking risks in writing - having a try!
• In our storybook time, we are using various reading strategies to gain a deeper understanding of texts. This includes questioning, summarising, predicting, making connections and visualising
