Education in Faith
Faith, Family, Friendship
During Term 3, many of our classes focused on learning what it means to be stewards of God’s Creation. It has been wonderful to see the many actions taking place across our Holy Spirit community.
Our students made a tremendous effort to care for our school environment by cleaning up the gardens and creating signs to raise awareness about caring for the earth. Their enthusiasm and commitment were recognised by Caritas Australia, who named Holy Spirit Creation Changemakers!
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home — talk with your children about simple ways they can be stewards of God’s Creation in their everyday lives. Together, we can make a difference.

During the September holidays, I was blessed to travel with 32 other MACS employees on a pilgrimage to Ireland as part of the Inspired to Lead program. The aim of this journey was to deepen our faith, reignite our passion for Catholic education, and strengthen the connection between our professional work and the mission of the Church.
This immersive experience delved into the principles of discipleship, Christian leadership, and evangelisation, while celebrating the enduring legacy of Irish saints and religious orders that helped shape Catholic education in Melbourne.
Our travels took us to many special places, including Dublin, Waterford, Cork, Galway, and Knock. Along the way, we learned about inspiring Catholic pioneers such as Venerable Nano Nagle, founder of the Presentation Sisters, and Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers. These remarkable individuals recognised the needs of their time and courageously responded to God’s call to serve others through education and compassion.
This pilgrimage was a deeply moving and faith-filled experience. I feel truly grateful for the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of these extraordinary people and to bring their spirit of service and hope back to our Holy Spirit community.
