Picnic at Hanging Rock

On a day of impending rain clouds, 2 teachers and 19 students made their way to Hanging Rock in Macedon. This excursion was part of the students’ study of the book Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay.

All were dressed to impress in authentic 1900’s gear and were tasked to focus on key passages creating montages and explaining images and symbolism through Statements of Intention.

Special thanks to the ranger and staff at the tourist attraction which continues to be a source fascination for those who cry “Miranda!” (whatever your post-modern focus is).

Thanks to Ms Mackenzie and the glorious students of the Year 12 Literature class.  We were a source of amusement to Viewbank College and many of the overseas visitors to Hanging Rock.
