VCE Units 1 – 4 Policy Handbook 2020

It is essential that parents and students familiarise themselves with the contents of the 2020 VCE Policy Handbook. VCAA VCE requirements, SACs/SATs and what to do in the event of absence, Authentication and Special Provision are just some of the key elements comprehensively detailed to enable a smooth and successful start to the VCE.  Any queries can be directed to either myself or Mr Sean Hiller, the VCE Coordinator, on 9458 2811.

Key aspects of the handbook will be delivered to VCE students as part of their study skills program.

The ‘Parent and Student Declaration’ is due Friday Feb 28.  Please be sure to familiarise yourself with the handbook, print and sign the declaration and return it to the Coordinators Office.

You will find the ‘Parent and Student Declaration’ on page 38 of the VCE Handbook which can be downloaded from COMPASS ‘School Documentation’ under the Community icon.

REMINDERS:

Attendance

Students are required to attend a minimum of 90% in all subjects/units. Students who do not meet the College’s attendance requirements jeopardise the satisfactory completion of their Year 10 or VCE. When students are ill or absent for a legitimate family reason, parents are able to access the Compass program and ‘approve’ that absence. We ask that all parents regularly access the parent portal and update those approvals where necessary.  For VCE students, it is imperative that absences are covered by a medical certificate, especially if students are absent on the day of a SAC or on the day of a SAT submission.  Parents need to ensure that a medical certificate is obtained to cover their student’s absence; parent notes, Patient and Statutory Declarations WILL NOT be accepted.

  • VET students are reminded to sign out with Mrs Shaw before leaving the College.
  • Unit 1 students who have a study period P6 must also sign out with Mrs Shaw from 3:00PM
