Message from the Principal

Achieving Excellence Together

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to our Year 6 Class of 2022 on their successful

completion of primary school. We thank them for their contribution to Albanvale Primary School throughout their seven years at the school, and wish them continued success, fascinating new learning, and wonderful friendships as they enter their secondary education. We are very proud of all our Year 6 students and hope that they continue to demonstrate our school values of Respect, Excellence, Responsibility and Collaboration throughout their future studies. Our grade 6 six students will celebrate this milestone with their Graduation Big Day Out on Monday, with a long excursion including attending Adventure Park, a special restaurant dinner and the opportunity to capture some memories along the waterfront in Geelong. On Tuesday, to mark the end of the school year, our grade 6 graduates will share a farewell performance before receiving their graduating

certificates. The ceremony will commence at 1pm on the Athletics Track with all families welcome to attend, entering through Gate D.

Christmas Concert

We are hosting our annual Christmas Concert tomorrow with all classes having the opportunity to showcase their performance to the wider community. It will be an absolute privilege having our community together once more in celebration of our students and their learning. On the day a gold coin donation sausage sizzle and the Year 5 Kidpreneur market will be held on for some last-minute Xmas presents. Thank you to the students and teachers for their extended efforts in preparing for this event.

Parent Contributions and Book Packs

Thank you to families who have made contributions to the school for the 2023 school year. Families in years 3-6 who have made these contributions already will be provided a student laptop to be used over the school holiday break. If you wish to make a contribution this can be done online or at the front office.

Student Book Packs are a part of the contribution amount.

Semester Reports

Reports are now live and accessible to families through the Compass portal. This is an opportunity to celebrate your child’s progress this year and determine where to next with their learning as they begin turning their attention to their new grade.

End of Term

This year students will be finishing school on Tuesday 20th of December at 1:30pm. Families who require supervision of their children beyond 1:30pm, are requested to book children into our after-school care service.

Thank you

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students, staff, and parents of Albanvale PS for a very productive and enjoyable year focused on learning, wellbeing, and reconnecting as a community. It has been a pleasure to work with you all and I look forward to a continued partnership in the future.

I believe that we have a fantastic school, and I am proud to be part of the Albanvale community. I wish you all a restful break and a happy festive season. It is at this time of year that I would also like to acknowledge the contributions of the following staff will be transferring to other schools in 2023. This includes; Mr Hein, Miss Ma, Miss Brewster, Ms Reid, Ms Mathieson, Mr Talbot and Mrs Obucinski.  Each of these staff members played an important role in our community in ensuring our students enjoyed the best possible learning environment each day. We wish them the best of luck next year and know that they are well placed to succeed having been part of our wonderful community. We also have some new teachers joining our school and look forward to introducing them to you in the new year.

I’d like to extend my season greetings to you and your family. I wish you all a safe and restful summer break and look forward to welcoming students back to our school from the 30th of January 2023.
