Celebration Day: Part One

Here are some personal recounts of the day from some of the students in the senior class:

River: We had Celebration Day and I’m going to tell you all about it!

Eli: On the twenty fourth of the eleventh of twenty twenty-one was Celebration Day.

Myrtle: Celebration Day is a day where people get awards and eat and have fun and, well, celebrate!

Eli: When we went to school we weren’t

allowed in the classrooms, then the bell rang. First Sonic and Marshall were the hosts. They had microphones. They said for Ebony to come to then to do the Welcome to Country. Then Issi and Myrtle read a First Nations story.

Marshall: Myrtle and Issi read a Dreamtime story called “How the Birds Got Their Colours.” It was good.

Coby: My favourite part was when the crow was walking around with his hands behind his back.

Issi: After that Sonic played a song called “Dummy” on the keyboard. At first, I thought it was just a little three key song, but it ended up being pretty cool and fast. Next the Dragonflies did Nursery Rhymes. Lilly did “Baa Baa Black Sheep” and Ethan did “Old MacDonald”, Mahni did “Humpty Dumpty”, Astella did “Jack and Jill”,

Imogen did “Mary, Mary”, Oliver did "It’s Raining, It’s Pouring." Lilly’s was cute because she is just overly cute because she is in Kindy.

Ebony: Then Myrtle, Sonic, Coby, Issi, Hattie, Honu and Kirra did a play. I thought they did well.

Myrtle: We did a Readers Theatre called "Trick or Treat." I was playing a werewolf and Donna said I did some awesome howling.

Ebony: Then Coby threw chocolate everywhere. I liked it! Then we had a little break.

Kyesha: Hattie did the piano and she made it up!

Akasha: Then lots of people were singing. Here is a list of people who were singing: Akasha, Astella, Ebony, Coby, Myrtle and Kirra.

Kirra: Me and Kyesha did gymnastics. Me and Kyesha did a cartwheel, and we did the splits and a walkover and yeah. But! We had a feast after that!
