School Council Annual General Meeting

Our School Council AGM will be held next Thursday, 16th March at 7pm in the staffroom. School Council encourage all interested parents and carers to attend.

School Council - 2023 Committee

We welcome Jen Day and welcome back Cindy Livermore as parent members to School Council for the next two years. We also welcome back Judith McDonald as a DET staff member for the next 2 years. They join, Bec Gilmore, Peter Van Winden, Peter Atkinson, Peter Tredrea, Sam Redenbach and myself on the 2023 School Council committee.

School Review - Student and Parent Forums

It's been a pleasure this week to meet with students and parents/carers to hear their views on Croydon SDS. Students were excited to share many activities and programs that they like about school; cooking, bike riding, dancing and music have clearly been some of the highlights so far. Parents and carers shared their standouts as caring and committed staff, to the home - school connections Croydon SDS foster through communication and events, along with connections to school programs and mainstream/community organisation visits.

These forum sessions will provide valuable information to our review panel when they meet in term 2.

A special thank you to all parents for their time and contribution at these sessions.

Term 1 Community Night

On Wednesday 5 April, 5-6:30pm, we invite all Croydon SDS families and friends to join in this event. We will have an information session for parents/carers (important school updates), along with activities for students and siblings, and a community BBQ and Easter Raffle. It would be great to see you there! (There may even be an Easter Egg hunt!)

Section News

This week we introduce a new page to our newsletter, 'Section News'. Section news articles will be published in our week 6 and 10 newsletter each term. This is another opportunity for families to find out more about the wonderful things happening at CSDS.

School Photos

We are using a new school photographer to take our student photos this year, 'Field of View Photography'. We believe Field of View Photography will be able to better capture our students naturally looking happy as they learn and play at school. Students will be photographed throughout the week beginning, Monday 20 March.
