Leadership and Management

Prep 2019

The Prep enrolments for 2019 have concluded. For parents of siblings, please be reminded that a $500 deposit is required to secure your child's place. We have 26 siblings who will be joining Galilee in 2019. An extensive transition program has been planned with the children coming in for four visits combined with a parent information night. All of the details have been posted to the parents in the letter of offer. It has been a wonderful experience to meet the children and their families. While all children develop at a different rate, as parents we can assist our children to develop resilience and independence. Simple gestures can help with your child's development such as: carrying their own bag and encouraging them to speak for themselves.

ACU Placements

Congratulations to our Pre-Service teachers from ACU, Ruth Mulhern, Stephanie Leo and Patrick Crisostomo for completing a successful final teaching round at Galilee.  We wish them all the best for their teaching career.  Lauren Bland (3R) and Gemma Sullivan (1C) will continue for a few more weeks.

PE change to timetable

Due to NAPLAN next week, changes have been made to the PE timetable and students will need to wear their Sport Uniform on the following days:

Tuesday -  Year 6, Year 4 and 3R

Wednesday - Year 1, 5O and 3W

Thursday - Year 2, Preps and 5F

SRC

In response to the Victorian Anti Bullying Inititive, the SRC have created a video and poster that explains what children can do if they experience bullying behaviour. Future SRC projects will be focussed on promoting sustainable practices in the school, such as nude food and safety on the school yard, such as the use of equipment in the class level ball bucket, Learning Street and the Hall. Additionally, the SRC are intending to explore the possibility of meeting with local schools to see what projects their SRC have.

School Photos

We have been informed by MSP that their print lab is experiencing a higher than normal workload due to a shorter Term 1 this year. They have assured us that are doing their best to have the photos printed on schedule and to the standard MSP costumers expect however some schools, including Galilee, are experiencing a slightly higher delivery time.  MSP apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
