A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are excited to invite our parents/carers back to school for our special end of year Presentation Day Assembly on Thursday 3rd December at 9.15am on the school oval weather permitting. Class Awards and Major School Awards will be presented at this assembly. The Year 6 students will also present their Memories of Primary School Speeches. We need to register a COVID 19 Safety Plan for this event and a limit of 2 parents/carers per family will apply. However, if we have inclement weather we will move the event to the parish hall which will further restrict our numbers to the 4 metre square rule. In this case priority will be given to Year 6 parents/carers.  Please return the bottom section of this note by Wednesday 25th November so we can finalise our COVID 19 Safety Plan.

NAIDOC Week Celebrations

Last week our students had an amazing time learning more about the history of our country. I would like to acknowledge and thank Sharon Cooke (Diocesan Manager of Indigenous Education) who travelled from Moree to be with us on Friday and Jason Allen (Zeb’s dad) who spoke to the students about the local area history and languages. The students listened to Dream time stories, created beautiful artifacts and played some traditional aboriginal games. A special note of thanks to Cate Taylor and Judy Allen for coordinating these events.

Brain Olympia

Tomorrow our Primary students will be involved in our school Brain Olympia Competition, which will be held in the parish hall. The format of the day is based upon the Diocesan Competition and the students will be working in a team to complete the following activities.

  1. General Knowledge & Current Affairs questions;
  2. Mathematics problem solving;
  3. A speech
  4. Drama presentation

Teamwork is the key to this competition and I wish all our teams the best of luck!

Have a happy week
