Sports Update

Division Swimming Carnival

On Wednesday 9th March, seven EVPS students competed in the Division Swimming Carnival held at the Broadmeadows Swimming Pool.

They raced against other schools from the Mill Park, Bundoora, Mernda, Lalor, Broadford & Kilmore area. Students should be extremely proud of their efforts and achievements. Unfortunately, no students made it through to the next level.

Hopefully next year we can continue to build on from previous year’s success and have more students willing to try out and make the team.

Lawn Bowls

GET THE TAPE MEASURE!!!

On Wednesday 22nd March our Lawn Bowls team competed in the Division Lawn Bowls Tournament held at Bundoora RSL Bowling Centre.

In a round robin event we played against Mernda Park, St Mary’s Whittlesea and Plenty Parklands Bundoora. Our team played extremely well and made it through to the final against Plenty Parklands PS. In a tense final and with scores level, it came down to the last bowl. Epping Views held the advantage but the Plenty Parklands bowl ricochet off a bowl and landed right next to our bowl. It was too close to call with the naked eye so ‘get the tape measure’ was the call. The officials measured each bowl and Epping Views won by 5mm…..Yes 5mm!!!!

We are now through to the Northern Regional Final which will be held in two weeks time with the winner qualifying for the State Final.

We wish our team the best of luck!
