Student Leadership Conference

On Tuesday the 28th of March, EVPS student leaders attended the GRIP Student Leadership conference at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

This conference was a terrific opportunity for our leaders to be a part of a city wide event where leaders from over 200 schools attended and collaborated to further develop their already terrific leadership qualities. Students had many challenges throughout the day that were designed to test their knowledge and encourage them to help create change in our own school environment.

Dion Chakrabarty (School Captain) - At the GRIP Leadership Conference, we had a fun, pleasant and engaging whole-day session. The conference helped us improve our skills with 4 topics: The people a leader can impact the most, how to be an ‘others first’ leader, Ideas that impact everybody and how to get everybody on board with a new idea. There were also some memorable moments that were quite funny such as “Loud Noises” where everybody was asked to make as much noise as they possibly could (it was ear-splitting).

Chloe Sterjovski (House Captain) - The GRIP Leadership Conference was a really fun day for all who were lucky enough to go! It was really interesting to be able to speak to leaders from other schools and hear about the things that they are doing at their school. We were able to record all our information for the day in a booklet, I will be sure to use this new information in my leadership role. It was also a really cool experience to take the train into the city and walk around during a busy day.
