SAFM Deluxe Drop Off

Congratulations to Isabella R who won the ultimate ride to school on Friday!

Each day on SAFM Bec & Soda for Breakfast, just after the 8 am news, Bec & Soda read out three letters. If the listener's child's name starts with one of these letters, they are able to register their details to have a chance at winning a trip to school in the ultimate style! The lucky winners are then given a choice of getting a ride to school in a supercar, limo, horse and carriage.. or even a helicopter!

On Friday morning, I was driven to school in a McLaren. When I got picked up, they knocked on my door and gave me a gift bag including socks and a lanyard with my name on. They showed me all the cool stuff about the car like how the doors open up and out and the seats were really low to the ground. The number plate was the same as the radio station name - SAFM! When he started the engine it roared really loud and some of the neighbours came out to have a look! The roof of the car was really low and the drivers head almost touched the roof! It was funny and a little embarrassing on the way as so many people stared and pointed on the drive to school!

When we arrived at school, all of the students were gathered in a big crowd at the gate and were all screaming with excitement! When I saw all of the students I felt nervous and embarrassed! When I got out of the car, my legs were really shaky! The SAFM crew were there with the Black Thunder and started taking videos and pictures of me. My friends from both OLOH and GPS were there and could tell that I was nervous and excited. They came up to hug me which made me feel better and we had some photos together.

My mum sent an application to SAFM to win a deluxe drop-off to school, and a couple of weeks later they called mum to say that I was shortlisted out of 30,000 people. A few days ago they called and told mum that I had won, but mum kept it a secret because she wanted to surprise me. On Tuesday this week when SAFM told me that I had won, they recorded it and then they played it on the radio on Thursday! Some of my friends and teachers came up to me on Thursday and told me that they heard me on the radio!

I would like to thank my mum for sending the application because she knew how much I wanted to win, and the SAFM crew for letting me ride in an awesome car!
