Dear parents and carers,

Welcome to term 3! There is a lot to look forward to this term starting with the Footsteps dance program for all students and the Way2Go Bike Ed program for year 5 students in week 2. Further into the term, we have Book Week in week 5 and the Festival of Music choir performance at Festival Theatre in week 9.

Student progress conferences  

In the last week of term 2, students were given printed information to take home regarding student progress conferences in week 3 of term 3. Teachers indicated on the letter if a conference is requested, or if it is at the parent/carers discretion.

School hats

Hats are back from the start of term 3. As per our Sun Smart policy, school hats are to be worn in terms 1, 3 and 4. For further information, view the policy on the school website.

Staffing update

Congratulations to Sara Slater, Deputy Principal for Greenwith Primary School, currently Acting Principal for Wynn Vale School, on her appointment to the Principal position at Modbury P-6 School for the next 5+ years.

This is a very exciting opportunity for Sara and we wish her every success in her new role. We thank her for her commitment and dedication to Greenwith Primary School as both a teacher and a leader over the last 11 years. Her knowledge, skills, professionalism and her ability to make positive relationships with staff, students and the community will be greatly missed.

Sara will be starting at Modbury P-6 School on Monday 7 August. We wish her all the best in her upcoming venture.

We warmly welcome April O’Brien who is teaching alongside Nadene Staporski in 402 on Mondays in semester two.

Enrolments for 2024

Commencing next year, there will be a mid-year intake into primary school. This means that if your child turns 5 between 1 May and 31 October 2024, they can start school in Term 3 2024. Children turning 5 between 1 November and 31 December 2023 can start school in term 1 2024. 

If your child is due to start school in 2024 and you are yet to enrol them, please pop in to the Front Office to pick up an enrolment pack.
