Swinny Represented in the Season of Excellence

By Ed Armstrong

Currently the Season of Excellence is finishing up across Melbourne, celebrating the highest achieving VCE students of 2022. This year Swinburne Senior students have blazed a trail across the Visual Arts domains, with Mae Czechowski and Josef Arpula featured in Top Arts at the National Gallery of Victoria, and Sequoia Pather’s short film in the top 15 Media short films featured now at Top Designs at Melbourne Museum. Catch these impressive works before the Season ends on the 9th of July. I highly recommend attending both venues to not only show your support for these hard working young people, but also to be enriched by the suite of art on display from all successful students.

17th March - 10th July Top Arts at the Ian Potter Centre, National Gallery of Victoria

25th March - 9th July Top Designs at Melbourne Museum

Congratulations to 2022 graduate Sequoia Pather for being 1 of only 14 finalists selected from a large pool of entries for inclusion in MAPh's TOPshots exhibition!

TOPshots is the Museum of Australian Photography's annual showcase of exceptional photographic work from Victorian high school students. Sequoia's entry comes from her Studio Art Photography series titled Diffluvio, which "in Latin means split. This series is a story of a girl who sees different versions of herself within her mirror."

Catch Sequoia's work up close and in person at MAPh until 28th May
