A cool and windy day greeted everyone for the Annual Inter-house Athletics Carnival last Friday. With a full day of events many students put in amazing efforts for their houses as they continued to give their all. The friendly yet competitive atmosphere at our sporting carnivals makes them special days for all involved. Well done to all the Heads of Houses and House captains for their organisation and a special congratulations to the Laidlaw students and staff on taking out the Grand Aggregate. Thanks to all the staff, students, parents and College Community members who came and helped me to ensure the day ran smoothly. It is much appreciated. Congratulations to Luca Wagner and Zoe Addinsall who broke twenty plus year records in the 1500m events while India Ross broke a 40 year record in the 15yr girls discus!

Table Tennis and Badminton
Congratulations to those boys and girls who represented the school at MSAC last Tuesday in the annual ICCES Table Tennis and Badminton competition. This is a very strong competition and a great opportunity for our keen players.
Basketball
The junior basketball season so far has been great to see the students back on the court improving their skills and knowledge of the game. We now need to prepare team entries for the longer winter basketball season in terms 2 and 3 so parents and players should have considered other commitments before committing to playing for this upcoming season.
If your child is already playing, I only need the names of those NOT going to play again please by Monday 15th March at the latest. Everyone else will just continue in that division most likely. Ideally there will be minimal changes to our teams but we will wait and see how many new players there are as well as the numbers not playing again.
Students not currently playing but would like to play junior basketball in terms 2 and 3 need to let me know also by Monday 15th March.

We did them all
We killed them all
2021 ICCES Swimming was a huge success, the weather held up and the College spirit shined. The competition was tough, but everyone put in 110% and it showed in our results.
First places went to the speedy Gabe Marshall in 50m freestyle and breaststroke, the amazing Luke Marshall in 50m freestyle and breaststroke, graceful Grace Potter in the 50m backstroke, the skilful Ava Schroeder in her 50m breaststroke, the 16yr old boys freestyle relay and the 16yr old boys medley relay and of course the super swimmer, Will Merrin, in his 50m freestyle.
Placing in the top 4 in countless other events.
We managed to come 6th overall, narrowly missing out on 5th by 1 point.
The junior girls and boys came 5th, intermediate girls 6th, intermediate boys with an equal 2nd and the senior girls and boys with a 4th.
We did so well that we managed to retain star trophy for what feels like the hundredth year in a row. A great way to finish a brilliant swim season and the last competition for us Year 12s.
We would like to thank Mr. Singh and Mr. Alexander for all their support an organisation, especially with trainings and getting everyone there on time. We are so fortunate to have the talent and expertise that you both bring to the pool.
We would also like to thank Mrs Silva, Ms Te Boekhorst, Mrs Marshall and Tess Dempsey who took time out of their day to travel up to Melbourne with us and help out.
We would also like to thank each and every member of the College Swim team for your commitment, enthusiasm and laughs we had along the way.
Thank you everyone!
